Capturing a Florida Thanksgiving

When capturing a Florida Thanksgiving in my scrapbook I chose paper that represented both the fall and the Florida sun.  A bright orange back drop and a tropical print in yellow and orange was the perfect combination.   I cut my pictures down to size and added the orange and yellow paper behind them, creating the pattern on both the photos and the backdrops with the zig zag scissors.

Then I cut out the page title from the same paper as the background page.   When I create page titles I find the easiest way is to print them out in the font of my choice on Word or another computer program.  Then I rub the back of the paper with a pencil, essentially creating a carbon paper.   Then I trace the letters onto my acid free scrap book paper and using very fine scissors I cut them out.  To complete the page I used shell embellishments.

Here's another page with the same idea:

In this one I chose a deep red and orange background, deep fall colors done in a way that reminds me of a Florida sunset.   I added the pictures and then used yellow paper to create the title, which I outlined with orange paper.  To do this trace the letters in two font sizes, cut them out of both colored paper (without cutting out the wholes in the background color) and then glue one on top of the other, giving it the crisp outlined look.  Then I used fall harvest embellishments and florida embellishments to finish the page.
