Capturing Autumn Past-times

PUMPKIN PICKING: In Autumn pumpkin picking is probably one of the most common weekend pastimes.   Almost everyone I know takes a ride to the nearest (or farthest) pumpkin patch to pick their own pumpkins for decorating their homes.  This is an easy thing to capture on paper if you are using the right backdrops.   In this case I found a package of holiday themed paper that included this backdrop.   I complimented the orange pumpkins by backing the photos with orange paper, then used the collage method to finish the page.

FRIGHT FEST: Most amusement parks have some sort of Halloween Themed event.  My mom and I have flown to Florida to attend Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando multiple times.   Right here on Long Island, the Bayville Adventure Park turns itself into a the Bayville Scream Park.   And of course Six Flags, and their many parks, feature ghosts, ghouls and haunts at their annual Fright Fest.  This isn't one of my all time favorite scrap book pages but I think it captures the idea behind Fright Fest.  I added the pictures first and then embellished with pre-ready dye cuts and titles.  The Happy Halloween, hard to see here with the black on black, actually pops better in person because the blacks are not exact and the Happy Halloween is glossy and raised.  (Same goes for the witch, who is flying over the moon.)   I used a skeleton and bats as well, all from a Halloween themed embellishment kit to portray Fright Fest.   Then I used the candy apples and roller coster embellishments from a carnival themed kit to portray the park.

Have a great fall and enjoy the fun weekend activities associated with the season.
