What Are Little Boys Made Of...

OK I promised you scrap book pages and so far I haven't delivered... so here we go.

Scrap Booking is all about the inspiration.  Every time I start a page I wait for one small thing about that page to inspire me.  In this case I did two pages.  One for Jason as a child and one for me.   So I was inspired by that old poem...

What are little boys made of... Frogs and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails.
What are little girls made of... Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice

You don't need fancy pre-cut pieces to make a great page.  You can do things free hand.  In this case thats what I did, free-handing frogs, snails, a dog, cupcakes, cookies, and candy.  I cut them out and colored them in.   But if you can't draw then trace.   You can find images you like on the internet or in books and trace these images onto paper.  Outline them with markers and then color them in.  Be sure to use acid free markers though (these are special markers sold for scrap booking.)  Don't use Sharpies or any other markers, unless they say they are acid free.

If you don't want to buy letters, which get expensive to buy enough letters to create phrases or sentences, a good way to make letters is by printing out the words on Microsoft Word or another publishing program and then tracing them.  Be sure to trace them backwards so that when you cut them you get a line free image.    I will show you how to do this in more detail in another blog post.

As far as the pictures go, in this case I wanted a lot of pictures on one page so I chose the collage method.  To stick them down I use glue squares, I find these are the best for getting a good clean page where the pictures stay on.
