Beer Meatballs

Here is an easy appetizer for a party, gathering or sporting event.   It can be done on a stovetop or in a crockpot.  I suggest using a crockpot and cooking for 3 hours on low.

Make meatballs.  You can also buy meatballs.  I recommend Costco's Kirkland brand.  Make sure they are plain meatballs, not Swedish.

Sauce:
1 14 oz. bottle ketchup
1 bottle beer
  • Add ketchup and beer to pot and stir.  Add meatballs.
  • Simmer meatballs in sauce.   For frozen meatballs you will want to cook them for 45-60 minutes (until cooked through) on the stove or for 3 hours on low in a crockpot.  For fresh meatballs you can cut the cooking time in half, but bake the meatballs before adding to the sauce.
This might not sound like the most appetizing combination, but its both easy and delicious.
