Decorating the Chandelier

My Dining Room Table, Christmas 2012:

My Mom's Dining Room Table, look at the beautiful chandelier.
My mom's house is so beautiful at Christmas time and one of my favorite rooms is the dining room.  In her dining room my mom has a fancy chandelier with covers on her lights.  I always loved how beautiful she made it every Christmas.  She actually changes every single chandelier cover, puts red tubes over each light to make it look like a candle and adds the bows.   It's beautiful!  But with the basic Home Depot chandelier over my dining room table I am not able to decorate it this way.  But I always wanted to decorate it.

So this year I was inspired by a Pinterest post and put my own twist on it.

Decorate dining room chandelier...but maybe use clear string?!?
The Image I pinned on Pinterest, see link above.

Instead of ornaments I chose to hang red snowflakes.  I used fine white string so its less obvious then the string in this photo and I made sure to hang the snowflakes at all different heights.   Then I bought garland for the top of the chandelier.  But since the snowflakes are sparkly I chose a sparkly garland to match.    I love the way it looks.

I finished the table with my homemade Candy Cane centerpiece  and two candy cane striped candles.
